First on my list is that it is pumpkin season! One of my favorite times of the year. Why? Because now is the time for carving pumpkins, pumpkin pie, pumpkin milk shakes, and pumpkin ice-cream! Three things that I love (although, the last two nearly kill me because of my lactose intolerance). I recently tried the Ben and Jerry's Pumpkin Cheese-Cake Ice Cream. It was pretty much the best ice cream that I had ever tasted!
Next on my mind is the economy. It worries me quite a bit since it will soon be the time that I leave university and enter the job market. However, I know that things will be fine. The economy always comes back, and I have confidence that it will. I think that a major part of this particular downturn is that cunning device called the media. It is so good and making things seem worse than they really are and then actually causing things to get worse. The media helped gas prices to rise out of control and they will help the economy to crash even farther by scaring people into drastically changing their spending habits. This is especially true this close to a general election. The media (on both sides of the party line) specializes in spreading panic to show why their particular candidate (surprise! the media is biased! haha) is the one needed to save the world. I am not saying that we are not in the midst of a crisis, but I think things will magically start to get better after the election.
School is going well for me right now. I am in marketing, finance, and and operations class. They are all interesting except for the finance and operations classes (that was supposed to be a joke). I really enjoy the marketing class and that makes me happy because that is my chosen field of study. Our final project for the class is to make a commercial. I won't spoil the surprise and give away the entire concept, but it will be a Mountain Dew commercial.
The last thing that I will write about should actually be at the top of this post, because it is always on my mind. I only put it at the bottom for dramatic emphasis. That is my wife (okay, she is not a thing, but you know what I mean). She is always on my mind and everything I do and every decision that I make is is really for her. To me, it is so wonderful to see how our marriage is progressing. We are constantly setting goals and achieving them. Some of them may be small, but progress is progress and it makes me happy to see us learn and grow together. I am so thankful to her for her support and help in everything I do. I am also really thankful to God that she is in my life. Our religious beliefs really help to motivate us to be better, not only for each other, but for the family that we have together one day. The faith that we have really brings us together and gives us happiness in spite of current events. Presidential elections, economic depressions, high gas prices, and even war can't take away the peace that faith in Jesus Christ brings to our family.
So in this tumultuous time of crisis, I wish you all (yes all 4 of our readers) a "Happy Pumpkin Season!"
