Blogger Rebel

I feel like sometimes in the blogger community, people get so caught up in the "blogger rules" that they lose a bit of themselves. I was talking with someone the other day that was complaining that she doesn't "follow" some blogs because they are "annoying". They played music, or were too cluttered, or didn't have ENOUGH content. *sigh*

I think it's important to remember that everyone blogs for different reasons. Some to make money, some to make friends, others as a journal of sorts. It's not our place to judge other people's blogs.

I think of my blog as my own personal space. And I am inviting you in, welcoming you in. You can come in, or not. But if you do- be respectful because what I put into my blog means a lot to me. My thoughts, photographs, complaints. Those things are important to me.

And please know, that I love and appreciate all of my readers and I go to your blogs because I love them and I love you! I love that you let me in to a little piece of yourself. And that you trust people will respect that you put yourself out there.
Of course, if I find a blog to be offensive or just overall filled with negativity, I will choose not to follow. But overall, I don't care what is in your blog or how it's laid out. It's yours. I will not judge you.

And that's all. Ha ha.

THIS my dear, is why I love you!

Because there is a warmth and acceptence from you, and I just simply love it!

:))

You're right, your blog is your space. No one else should have the right to judge it!

if someone doesn't like what they see or I write.. they can keep on moving! My blog is my safe spot, and I dont allow drama, or mean people!

I should make a "mean people not welcome" sign to put at the top :)

well actually I've never had anyone mean stop by.. :) so I've been super lucky!

Blog Rules! I wrote out a post about the same subject but didn't publish it.

I recently stopped following someone because of their outspoken blog rules ...two of which were directed toward blogs like mine and it hurt my feelings. Once fine, twice ...I move on. Though I curse myself for not being more forgiving.

Thank you for posting this because I agree with you - to each their own.

To add, if you have nothing nice to say keep it to yourself. Otherwise the consequences could be hurting someone's feelings And who wants to do that? Certainly not someone I want to be friends with!

So looking forward to your photo challenges!!!

Seriously, it is quite the challenge to fight the blog rules... especially when it is so tempting to compare followers. Goodness, I wish you would have written this two days ago so I could have had the strength to not give in to someone's lengthy list of what to do/not to do in the blog world...

But ultimately, you are right. My blog, is MY BLOG. If I never gain another follower, I'd be ok with that (and I hope I can say that every day ;)

P.S. I really want a snickerdoodle!

You are so right - there are so many rules but I think the point is to be respectful of others. If I don't have anything nice to say, I move on. But I blog for the community and as a creative outlet. I can't tell you how much happier I am now than I was last year because of this outlet. And yes, I'll take a snickerdoodle. Yum.

I agree with you completely on the whole "rules" thing. Bleh. I visit blogs because I like them...whatever they may be about. :) Looking forward to your photography hop!

I was kind of sort of going to write a post about this the other day. You took the words right out of my mouth.

I can't wait to see some more of your challenges! :) and i'm going to make snickerdoodles tomorrow because of you!! Dang it!!

i also get tired of so many 'rules' ... it's refreshing when i see a linky party or giveaway with a simple "just leave a comment" since this is just for fun, after all.
some people take it too seriously huh?
you're getting lots of feedback on this already! :)

Yes, well said mama. I see rules as a way to sort of save my butt in case someone crazy gets upset or something along those lines.

I also love how different every blog is! My blog sort of reminds me of my house. A little cluttered, but I love all of it.

Did you make the cookies? I WANT one!
