sippy cup

Someone has been loving his sippy cup! For now, I've just been putting like 1oz of water mixed with a little bit of apple juice in it. What do you guys put in your babe's sippy cups??

I love that he drinks out of them but as soon as I take it from him he starts crying. Hmm... not sure I like that.

We do Mostly Water with a little bit of Apple Juice as well. Just enough to sweeten it up. Now that Noah has gotten older, we give him different kinds of juice and Gatorade. :) He's so cute!!!

What?!?!? Where have I been. Goodness, I need to start giving Joss some juice. What a slacker I am. Seeing this post I just got excited to make Joss her first sippy cup of (water) juice!

I have always just put straight water in it from the beginning and so he has never known a difference. I am not a big juice advocate but I dont mind what you choose to do you are a good mom all on your own! I think why add the extra sugar and flavor when you dont need to, pure water is awesome. Plus when he has super healthy teeth later on he will thank you! And if thats all hes ever got then he wont what he is missing. I can imagine why kids who are 2 and 3 or whatever dont like water if all the sudden they had to switch from juice to that.
I also noticed that if it was room temperature that it literally fell out of the side of his mouth! it doesnt have much taste so he didnt even realize it was there til I made it ICE cold and he loved it! I also filled it to the top right off the bat, it was heavy but he never had to tip it back far to get a taste. however your little man looks like he has it down. he is so handsome!

We only put water in ours also. He likes it cold, so we add ice. I agree, that if you only give water, they will never know the difference and will want and like it later in life. Either way, he looks like he's used that sippy for awhile now!

Beautiful shot! We started with plain old water with Jaslyn just so she can get use to the taste. Now she can't have enough of it. Everynow and then we'll give her apple juice and dilute it with water.

that's the exact sippy that i started simon with :)
and he's doing pretty well with it, too. we've just done water so far, but he probably would like it sweetened with a bit of juice (no harm in that, if you ask me!)

Ya know, I don't know why we ever went away from sippy cups...they're pretty great - so relaxing.

Water, water, water. I say that because if hes getting teeth you dont want the sugar from the juice to sit on his teeth. Plus I agree with most the people above, getting him to enjoy water now is a good idea. Maybe just a bit of juice every once in a while, but make sure you brush his little gums and teeth after. :)

I was just saying yesterday that I need to get Dane a sippy! I'm just planning on putting water in it. My pediatrician says no juice until after they're one because they don't need the sugar, and I kind of agreed. Wait. That sounds like I'm being snotty about you giving Bennett juice, and I'm not! Sorry! Anyway. Cute picture. Gotta head to Target to get Dane one!
