Disney World, here we come!

Remember how I was whining about the possibility that we may not be going to Hawaii in March?

Well let me explain.

My sister-in-law and her family (she has two daughters ages 3 & 5) have been going to Hawaii pretty much every single year for the last several years. She always invites us to go, but it's just never worked out. (i.e pregnancy, then baby...etc)
But this year, we were seriously considering going because we'd be staying with them (free lodging), and we *thought* we had free airline tickets (alaska airline mileage program). And because we were pretty much only going to have to pay for food, it was a no brainer! So when we found out that our mileage program didn't include Hawaii, cause it's not the continental US, we were crushed. Seriously.

Well my amazing sister-in-law read my blog post and she e-mailed me reminding me that they were also going to be going to Orlando in May, and we should take a vacation with them there, instead of Hawaii. Because, DUH, Florida is in the continental US. Back to the FREE flights!

So 24 hours after receiving that e-mail... we booked our tickets to Orlando for this May! And if you know me, you know how ECSTATIC that makes me. I LOVE Disney World. I even posted about it way back in June, and how I was dying to go.

We are not taking Bennett with us, though. Some people think it's weird that we're going to Disney World and not taking at One year old. I guess I can see where there coming from, but the whole point of the vacation was to get away, just the two of us, baby-free. And Bennett will be too young to really enjoy it and go on any of the rides. We'll go again with him when he's 4ish.
I will miss Bennett like crazy but I know he will be in the very capable hands of his Yia-Yia and his Auntie Lissa.

So...do I have the best in-law's or what?? It will be super fun to watch my nieces run around Disney World. I am so thankful for the generosity of Nichole & Chad. You guys ROCK!

I am over the moon excited! Can you tell?? :)

Booya! May can't come fast enough!

Yay so happy for you and your hubby! That place is a blast! And I don't think it's weird at all not taking the baby. It is very nice to get away and spend some adult time together. Can't wait to see pics!

I've never been to Disney World either! I think it's a great idea anyway because you can see a ton of stuff now, and then when Bennett is a little older you can go again.

Plus he probably still won't be able to do everything little thing you guys want to do and since you've already seen it all you won't be pushing him and it will be more enjoyable for everyone. Win, win. Can't wait for the photos!

How fun! I'm very excited for you (and a little jealous)! Bennett can go when he's a little older, he won't even know the difference!

That is so awesome, I LOVE Disney World! I have a lot of family that lives in Florida, so when my brother and I were younger (me 9, he 8), our parents finally took us to DW. I cannot wait for my brood to get old enough to go too. You will have an awesome time!

Oh, I'm so glad you get to take a vacation!

Florida and Disney World are both great. And I wouldn't feel bad about not taking Bennett. I have a one year old and honestly? I think it would be too much. She would want to be independent and walk around and that just aint happenin' in Disney.

Have loads of fun!

We have gone twice as a family. Once with only 2 kids (aged 4 and 1) and then past summer with 3 kids (aged 6, 3, and 1). While it is a lot of fun with kids, Scott and I are thinking of going on our own, too. We want to golf, ride the rides, etc. Have a great time!

I love Disney and don't think it's weird at all that you are going without the babe. You are still going with two kids!
And I am with you on being anxious for May! I am itching to get to Mexico!

How exciting!! My husband has never been, and I really want to take him before we have kids. You are never too old to love Disney!!!! I went for the first time when I was 4 or 5 and it was wonderful. There is no need to spend the money for him to go when he wouldn't understand it. You are going to have so much fun!!!!

So exciting. You will have a blast. We took Dustyn when he was 10 months. He enjoyed seeing the shows and all the people and stuff, but I can understand that it would be nicer without a kid. Ha ha.

You will have a blast! Disney is only an hour away from us and we would just go before we had a kid. It was still a blast! Who says you need you have kids to enjoy Disney? That'll be a great time too because it's not really summer yet and school is still in, so hopefully less crowds. Have fun Mandy!

We are sooo glad it worked out that you can join us! I am very excited to have a Disney pro with me for my first visit. :) Love you!

Oh, Mandy, Disney is NOT for a one year old. I'm glad you are not taking Bennett. I really think 4 is the very earliest I would take a child, but maybe not until 6. We've been about 8 times and look forward to taking our Grans one day, but it will be a while. :o)

I'm so happy for you and your husband, what a great trip this will be for the two of you.

Happy weekend!

Yes, it would be a hassle in parents part to bring little kids there. They will probably can't stand the crowd.  Christmas in Disney  can be fun for 6 years old and above.
