cherishing even the hard times.

my little man has been sooo cranky lately. i'm pretty sure it's his molars that are bugging him. i'd be lying if i said i wasn't exhausted. but....

yesterday he woke up from a nap only 30 minutes in, just screaming and crying. i picked him up and rocked him until he fell back to sleep. i haven't done that since he was 7 months old.

after he was asleep, i laid him down with me on the bed and he slept in my arms for an hour. {i was in heaven with him in my arms}

so as much as i hate teething, i am trying to cherish the tender moments in between. i know that through all of the tough times, there are so many blessings to be found. a sleeping baby in my arms is about as beautiful as life can get!

Sweet Shot Day

Poor baby. I know the feeling. My daughter is getting her 5th tooth coming in and she is in pain - I hate seeing her like that. I hear molars are worse - I'm not looking forward to that. :(

Ugh! We are dealing with molars too! Poor kids! A few weeks ago I held Lily while she slept on the airplane for and hour and a half...complete heaven :)

He looks so cute with little teeth - I know it's painful though.

Poor little man, you have the right attitude though :) It is tough but at times you just need to stop and think "they won't be little forever"...

Gorgeous capture too!

just look at those eyes! so adorable.

Any pointers you have for editing pics and making the eyes pop (like most of your wonderful pics do)?

teething = sucky

when braeden was teething he did the exact same thing. he would wake up in these horrible screaming episodes... which i HATED but loved the snuggie calm down time right after.

good luck. im sending you any patience i have left over ;)

Ibuprofen. I have to give it to Krew quite often for teething pain. Just last night, he kept crying, then falling asleep, then waking up crying again, over and over. A dose of infant ibuprofen and he was out for the night. Maybe you've already tried it, but if not I'd give it a shot.

Ugh! I totally feel your pain! Baby C has been the same way. One night last week, he woke up in the night and just started crying. He did not want to go back to sleep. I was up for seeral hours with him.

I couldn't agree more! It really sucks when Cade is sick, but it is also the best in the world because he'll just lay on me and snuggle :)

Susan said...

Sorry he's not feeling great.

But boy did you get an incredible shot.

THOSE EYES!!

Love your work...

Ugh. teething little ones is the hardest thing. I'm so sorry your little man isn't feeling well. I'm sure you're almost over the hump. On the brighter side, I'm glad you were allowed a little glimpse of the good ol' days!

Teething was a rough stage...for my house it was the sleepless nights that got me since I also had to work out of the home. But even so, I loved every second of it. Being a mom is the most phenomenal blessing ever!

And looking at the photo, it just oozes love. You can't help but smile and feel warm looking into those eyes!

You are so right. I still "have" to rock Elliot to sleep every night, but I'm soaking it all in while I still can. They grow up way, way too fast. I'm glad you got some snuggle time in.
PS: love that picture. Look at all those TEETH!!

That's such a good photo - your baby is adorable!

Well you know how i feel about this photo since I already expressed it on a facebook comment ;) But I'll say it again, those eyes are just heart-melting!

And I hear you 100% on the teething, my son now has and has had all his teeth for a while (he got almost all the "smaller" ones before 1) but I remember getting his molars, all of them came at once and I was up all night every night for a week straight battling fevers and crankiness. But you do find some moments amongst the chaos that you cherish and remember forever! :)
