getting acquainted!

It's kind of strange moving into a new neighborhood. It's taken us a couple of weeks to kind of adjust to this new community, not sure that it's really sunk it that this is our home now. This is where my children will spend their childhood, making memories (hopefully!).

It's a whole new territory. We still haven't met any of the neighbors. We really should go and introduce ourselves. I'm sure they are friendly! Our street is full of kids, and just about every house has Christmas lights hung and a tree shimmering in the window. Very inviting. We just need to get up the nerve.

In the meantime, though, we've been appreciating the breathtaking views from our development. I absolutely love where we live now. I am in awe of the amazing beauty that surrounds us. All we have to do is walk out onto our porch and this is what we see.

In the distance, you can see Mt. Rainier. It's actually an active volcano, so lets hope that it doesn't erupt in my lifetime! :-)

If we walk a few blocks up the street, the sight is amazing!!

From the top of our hill at sunset.

And of course, a few houses down (or I should say 'up' from us) is an amazing park for Bennett to play at! So excited.
Umm... he spotted those ridiculously huge tube slides back there and off he went!

He was in awe about these things, but I really didn't think he'd want to go down them.

But he went running for the stairs. He couldn't climb them fast enough.

He's got the slides in his sights now....

And he's down! I was super shocked he actually went down those gigantic slides. He wasn't scared in the slightest. The funny thing was, though, he didn't want to go again. I guess once was enough! Ha ha.

I can see that we will be spending a LOT of time at this park, SO happy that it's only a of couple steps away!

What a great neighborhood! Those slides would make me nervous! LOL. But it looks like your son conquered them with no problem! Haha!
Here in NJ, no one introduces themselves & your neighbors don't care about each other - we have lived in our house for 7 years, and we know 2 neighbors. The others all hibernate and could care less. Once we move out of NJ, I hope that changes. That is the norm here sadly. Everyone is too busy here with their lives to bother with one & other.
Enjoy your new neighborhood and have fun meeting your new neighbors! :)  I'm sure it will be fun!

I'm so jealous you have a great park by your house! We have to drive 20 minutes to get to a park (or just a swing for that matter)! Your new neighborhood looks wonderful! :)

That is such a beautiful neighborhood, it really makes me want to move out of Southern CA! I'm tired of living in a small town house (we own) for what I can can get a nice house (like yours) in another state!! You live in my dream neighborhood. :)

Beautiful!  You should go introduce yourself.  Really they should come to you...but not many of our neighbors did, and now we continue to ignore each other.  So annoying, I wish I had just said hello to start.

That is an awesome looking park! I wish we had neat ones like that around here. I'd love to see a picture of the slides from top to bottom!

I'd LOVE to live there, looks beautiful. Spokane is nothing compared to Montana but home is where you make it right? :)
