nighttime shenanigans

Last night, Bennett decided that he'd be the ultimate party animal and get up at 2am. So there he was, wide awake... 2:00 in the morning. Hubby went in his room, changed his diaper, put him back down.

Fast forward 3 hours - it's 5am and my little rock star is still in his crib, awake. Singing, talking... doing who knows what. No really, what do toddlers do in their cribs... by themselves for 3 hours in the middle of the night?? It's a mystery. Kiiiiinda wish I had a video monitor.

Whatever, though. He was happy to be in his crib (not sleeping) so I guess no harm done? I didn't hear any noises when I checked on him at 5:30 in the morning so I'm assuming he was all partied out and decided it was time to catch some zzz's.

And now? It's 10:30am and he's still asleep. lol

That's the life with a toddler.

Our child was up all night, too. But doing this weird crying thing. I'm exhausted today haha. Hopefully you got some rest despite his middle-of-the-night playfest.

Not sure how I feel about those upcoming toddler days. But, I guess ya gotta roll with it. Glad you're not too exhausted :-)

Haha! So cute. My guy does that some times too. Usually just after he's gone to bed, though. He'll be really quiet and we're sure he's asleep, then half an hour later, all of a sudden he's singing a tune or talking to Brown Bear (his stuffy). :)

he is so funny! but i know not that funny once it's 3am ;) i'm dreading these days when my dude is a full blown toddler and i'm juggling this newborn dude coming in october. i'm sure i will be a train wreck with sleep deprivation for the first year ;)

I wish when I was up unable to sleep for hours in the middle of the night I could make up for it by sleeping in until mid morning. Toddler life is the good life.

I know those nights alllll too well LOL. We are currently "sleep training" (of sorts) our one year old and I'm actually really surprised at how well he's doing! It's SO adorable when they just hang out nicely in their cribs, lol!

This ia my life for the past month. Only...
1. Oz is in a toddler bed ao he can come into our room
2. He requires bein put back (while crying/whining) 10+ times most nights
3. He's up at 5:30 for the day after this nonsense
4. I have to go to work those days

Lil stinker!

Ps... Seriously, what does he do for 3 hours alone in his crib to keep himself awake?!

What a character! That is hilarious! I'm thinking a video monitor is a must when our baby is old enough for nights like these :)

Haha! Yep. Noah does that sometimes, too. Only now that he's in his big boy bed, he's more prone to wake up in the middle of the night and turn his light on to play. I can't even count how many times the husband has gone in his room to find him asleep on the floor or passed out in bed with toys everywhere. We've got to work on that before his brother moves in with him. ;)

I just wanted to say thanks for keeping your blog posts about real life with a toddler, I am expecting our first in September and I feel a lot more able to go with the flow knowing that life isn't always bliss with children and accepting that to find happiness xxxx
