Yep, that's right. My Husband and I had the ultimate date day/night this past weekend. It was pretty much the best time ever.
Philip took Friday off of work, and we dropped the kiddos off with at my sister-in-laws at 10am, and then we headed into Seattle for the day.
We parked in a central part of downtown so we could just stroll around without getting back into the car. We took our sweet time walking the streets, enjoying the street entertainment and gazing at all of the beautiful Christmas lights and decorations. We stopped in Specialty's for lunch and then we went over to Philips all time favorite store -- Brooks Brothers. His face just lights up in there, he ended up purchasing a bow tie (pictured below). He pulls it off well I think.
Later, we went to Westlake Center & Pacific Place to browse the many shops there. We also rode the holiday carousel, followed by a stop in Sephora, where I picked up the new Naked 2 eye shadow palette by Urban Decay. Totally going to start doing my makeup more often. Yup, I'm going to do it. And I love that my Husband totally encouraged me to buy this $50 palette!... which is completely out of character for me. But honestly, I've been feeling like such a bum lately, so hopefully this new makeup will help me to start putting in a little more effort in my more-often-than-not dull appearance. lol. We'll see ;-)
For dinner, we enjoyed some yummy Italian food at Tulio. We started off with some Sweet Potato Gnocchi, which was amazing!! I'd never had it before, it was so good!! And for the main course, I got Orecciette and Philip got the Veal Chop. Oh and for dessert, we got Cannoli! I'd never had it before either, and it was divine.
Oh, but our night wasn't over yet. Oh no. We saved the BEST part for last!!
We ended the night by attending the Pacific Northwest Ballet's Nutcracker! I had been many times as a kid and absolutely LOVE going to the ballet. Its such a wonderful past time for me. Philip had never been before, so I thought it would be fun to take him! He really enjoyed himself and has even said he'd like to go to another Ballet. Yeah, I think I'll keep him :-)
But if you really wanna know the best part about our date night, is that my wonderful sister-in-law kept the boys for a sleepover!!! So my Husband and I got to go sleep in on Saturday with no kids to wake us up at 6am. It was heavenly. We didn't roll out of bed until 9am, haven't done that in 3+ years!
The entire day/night was perfect. I forget what it's like to just be with my Husband and enjoy his company. This is something that every couple needs to do at least once a year (if not more often!)
And now I'll leave you with an iphone photo dump of the day :-)
