Five on Friday vol. 1

I got tickets to Maroon 5!! They are coming to Washington in September and I'm pretty much ecstatic about it. Not only because it's Maroon 5 and hello, Adam Levine ;-) But because they are playing at the most amazing venue ever, The Gorge Amphitheater! I'm telling you, it's a magical place. Click on that link back there and you'll see. It's actually about a 2 1/2 hour drive from us, but I decided to ask my family if they'd take the boys for the night, so that we could have the entire day and night to ourselves!

My Husband and I both don't like yard work. Well, that's an understatement, we loathe yard work. And the lady that lived in our house before us had paid some landscapers like $25,000 to do a major overhaul of both the front and the back yard. She must have had the mentality like LET'S PUT ALL THE BUSHES AND SHRUBS AND DANGEROUS POKEY LANDSCAPING ROCKS everywhere, and everything else that needs pruning. Which is great and all, but what that means is that since we've moved in, we have had to maintain it. Let me just say that we haven't done the greatest job. So we decided to do basically undo what she did. (if there are any gardeners reading this, can we still be friends?) Last weekend, Philip just started ripping crap out in the front yard and we're just going to replace it with grass. Boring, I know -- but it makes more sense for us at this stage in our lives. Next step? The backyard. Ugh. We've already done a bunch of stuff back there since we've moved in, but it still needs a lot of work.

TV shows I'm loving -- Have you all ever seen The Killing?? Season's 1 and 2 were incredible, and then the series ended (it was only ever meant to be two seasons). But there was such a huge fan following, that they wrote and produced a third Season. So far this season is dark, suspenseful and gripping. I'm hooked. It's supposed to take place in Seattle, however, the show makes Seattle look so grungy and icky, lol, totally not accurate at all, in my opinion. But the show is still amazing.

So You Thing You Can Dance. LOVE it. Although, I will admit that it's not as exciting as it once was, but I still love the creativity and choreography.

The Bachelorette. I know, I know, shame on me. I just can't help it, it's my guilty pleasure. Sooo addicting. BTW, I already know who Desiree chooses, so if you wanna know, I will tell you :-)

American Ninja Warrior. Holy smokes the competitors on this show are insane. So athletic and determined. This show is sort of random for me to watch but I dig it.

I have quite a few posts in my drafts (per the usual) just waiting to be finished. I get so behind that I forget where I was going with any one post. It's pretty ridiculous. Speaking of posts and blogging and all that, Mama Memoirs is officially on hiatus. Ever since I've been back from our trip, I have been torn as to what I want to do with it. I loved the series because I genuinely enjoy connecting with other Mama's, but I'm also having a hard time following through with my own Mama Memoirs posts. I might bring it back next month or maybe after Summer is over? What do you all think??

Happy Summer!! :-)

Woohoo for Maroon 5! Oh and we are the same way with landscaping. There's nothing magnificent going on in our front yard that's for sure. I am surprised I have managed to keep a few bushes and roses alive out there, ha!

Aaaahh! Maroon 5 is going to be SO FUN!
And when Eric and I buy a home? We will definitely try to avoid as much yard work as possible! A yard full of grass, and grass alone, is perfectly fine with us! Actually, if Eric had his way he would totally pour concrete over everything :) ha ha!
I am SO behind on the bachelorette! I need to set aside a day to have a date with hulu and play catch up!

I spent all of May doing the exact same thing to my backyard. We live just outside Seattle so our small backyard with only garden beds and a brick path did not make sense with two kids. I didn't feel guilty one bit ripping out all the landscaping they put in to sell last year :)

I LOVE yardwork! I'd trade it for my inside work any day of the week! :) You can't keep my out of my garden...but the weeds tell a different story from our week-long bsense! We love The Killing too, we're a few episodes into Season 2 and the only other show I'm watching "live" right now is Master Chef...I don't like watching too much TV in the summer. Also, I have a super hard time sitting down at my computer and my blogging motivation reeeeeeeally slows down in the summer!

I love Maroon 5!! I bet they're great in concert. Ha, and I'm an occasional gardner - I'll get psyched up to do some planting and prep the beds, and then do the planting...and then walk away. Hence I had to do some CRAZY weeding last weekend!! Oh well. The yard is always a work in progress!!
