Which is what got me thinking.
Instagram is genius, and it's a pretty big craze right now. But is the Instagram sensation kind of taking the place of blogging? I think that it's starting to, for a lot of people. I've noticed more of my favorite bloggers posting less & less to their actual blog, and IGing more & more. To be honest, I can't blame them. Like I said, Instagram is a fabulous place to not only keep all of the important "milestone" photos in one place and categorize them with hashtags, but meet other like-minded people. So in that regard, I get totally it.
But I'm wondering, will that eventually happen to me? Every once in a while, I will find myself slipping off the blogging radar because I'm semi-satisfied with the community on Instagram. And I say "semi-satisfied" not because I don't love the people I've met there, but because even though I love it, my blog is my home. Ya know?
This place, this is my turf. This is the place I want my friends and famiy to come to find out what we've been up to, or read about my deep dark secrets. ;-) This is where I can write an entire novel about my parenting mishaps or victories, and not feel like I'm clogging up a feed. The people that visit and comment here, aren't just thumbing through their feed and quickly passing me by. The people that come to my actual blog, make a deliberate visit. And I appreciate that so much!
What do you think about the Instagram phenomenon? Can you see a shift in blogging frequency now that IG has blown up into such a huge community?
