Time slipped away from me this past month. Are we really in October already?! My mind is blown.
Well, my little Easton turned 18 months on Sept 30. And this seems like a big milestone to me. I mean, EIGHTEEN MONTHS!! What the heck. I had the brilliant idea to take my Three Year Old and my One and a Half Year Old out this past weekend to take Easton's official 18 month photos. And I'll tell you one thing, it wasn't the 3 y/o I was frustrated with.
Being a photographer, you'd think I'd be totally prepared and able to handle a photoshoot with a One Year Old. But after this shoot, I was starting to question my chosen profession. lol.
Easton is an absolute joy, but at the same time, he's got firey attitude and sends my head spinning sometimes. He decided he wasn't going to cooperate at all for pictures, but I suppose I should expect nothing less.
Dude wasn't pleased with me for asking him to hold still, so in protest, he took his beanie off and threw if on the ground while wining and flailing around erratically. Eh, such is life I suppose.
So I stopped asking him to pose and sit still, because I realize how ridiculous it was to try and get him to stay in one spot. So most of the decent shots I got, where of him in motion. The photographer in me wants that "perfect" photo. At the end of the day, though, I realize that this is a perfect reflection of life with an 18 month old, so.... I embrace it. :)
Easton is so smart. He is extremely in tune with what's going on around him, and he pays good attention, just absorbing information like a sponge. His vocabulary is awesome, for a One Year Old. I'm impressed every single day at the things he says. He can mimic and repeat almost all sounds & words that we say, and he understands and follows direction amazingly well.
Things he loves:
Books, food (specifically fruit), big brother, snakes & reptiles, stuffed animals, building mega blocks, puzzles, The Lion King, hide & go seek, climbing, throwing & kicking balls, going on walks, sleeping, brushing his hair, taking baths, vacuuming, swinging, being tickled, picking out his clothing, chocolate milk. Oh and whining. ;-)
Things he doesn't like:
Diaper changes, getting his picture taken & getting in and out of the car.
I mean, for the most part, this kid is a cake walk. Sure he's got a little 'tude on him sometimes but he's so stinking cute, he can get away with it. Love him so much!! So blessed to have him in our lives.
