Love my guys.

These last few days have not been awesome. I woke up in the middle of the night on Monday and felt like someone took razor blades to my throat. Not a pretty visual, I know. As much as I love this time of year, I also loathe it because I swear, someone is always sick in my household at any one time during the fall & winter months. I know it's to be expected, but I still feel like whining and complaining about it. :)

But actually, even though I feel like I've been run over by a Semi, I've been so spoiled by my guys. Bennett has been extra good the past few days, checking in on me frequently. I adore when he comes up to me, reaches out and touches my face and says "Mama, are you okay? It's okay". And then he kisses me on the cheek and continues to play quietly. Which, if you've been reading here for a while, you know that my Three Year Old doesn't often play quietly. So, I'm thankful for those tender mercies.

And my Husband?? He's gone above & beyond for me. Tuesday night, he brought me home flowers, and then ordered me to to upstairs and take a nap... which I did and I'm so thankful I did because I slept awful on Tuesday night. That was probably the worst night of them all. I woke up at 2am and basically didn't go back to sleep until 6:30. It was not good at all. But again, my sweet Husband stepped up to the plate, took a day off work yesterday so he could stay home and watch the kids while I basically slept the day away, recovering. He even did the preschool drop off/pick up. Way to go babe!! Mom's don't usually get "sick days", so I am so grateful to my Husband for coming to my rescue. And if that wasn't enough, after he picked Bennett up from school, they stopped by the store on their way home to bring me my favorite ice cream! Such a nice surprise.

Being sick sucks, obviously, but it also shows me how blessed I am. Even though I feel icky, I will take sweet baby cuddles and flowers anytime ;-)

I'm a lucky girl.
