My Simple Christmas Mantle

I'm sort of obsessed with pretty home decor. Aren't you? I spend so much time perusing Pinterest, trying to gather ideas on how to decorate my house. Specifically, my mantle, and especially at Christmas time. I've probably pinned like 47 different ideas. And I even searched #christmasmantle and #mantledecor on Instagram. Sheeesh. But... truth be told, I didn't end up doing any of the things I wanted. I totally lack the follow-through. I'm sort of a flake like that. Priorities, you know?

So, I decided to stick with the basics on my mantle this year, nothing fancy. I'm here to tell you that simplicity can be pretty, too!

ON MY MANTLE:
Green tree: Fred Meyer
Silver candlestick tolders: Marshalls
Thin candlesticks: Marshalls
Silver ornamented tree: Marshalls
Large black candle Holder: Ikea
Small black candle Holder: Target
NOEL blocks: Home-made :)
Reindeer banner: Jane.com

Easy, inexpensive & still festive. At least I think it is ;) I will actually be kind of sad when I take this stuff down after the New Year. And then it's back to the drawing board for my mantle... I'll need something "wintery", but not Christmas-y. Aye.

I feel a little sad when I take down my Christmas decor, too! The house just doesn't look quite as festive the rest of the year!

We bought picture frame stocking holders last year and filled them with Christmas portraits for all four of us. Now we have our stocking hung by the fireplace with care AND are able to still have pictures on the mantle. My husband tells me we can't leave the Christmas decorations up all year long, something about it wouldn't be as special, blah blah blah. Agree to disagree.

LOVE it. I really love the simplicity. Mine is kinda cluttered with so much Christmas stuff I kinda want to simplify. Haha!

LOVE it! Mine is simple too, but a little too "symmetrical". I need to take a page from your book and mix it up a little!

I absolutely love how simple and classy your mantle is- it's what I would want if I had a mantle of my own :)

I absolutely hate that our tv is above our mantel...but it's really the only option in our living room - other than having no tv. . . and I just can't get with that. This looks great! I love that silver tree. You could totally just switch out your candles for silver or gold and white after christmas group them all together and add a nice family photo to the other side. and done!

Ummmm....I consider this fancy and pin-worthy lol! At least you follow through on SOMETHING. I feel like I pin 1,000 things and follow through on nothing -_- Love this!

How ridiculous am I that the one thing I want is a mantle? seriously, it's so adult and I want one!! haha. This is gorgeous!

I love it. I have a simple "traditional" mantle. A garland pre-decorated with ornaments and sparkles & pine cones I bought 1/2 off at Walmart, stocking holders from Sears & stockings of course and my brand new DIY print/poster that I LOVE!

It is simple, but so pretty. I got a banner similiar to that at Target, but I can't get it to stay on our mantle. I used tape & then glue dots, but it keeps falling.
