We dropped Easton off with my sister, and then took Bennett to Grandma's house for the night and then headed into the city! We got there around noon, and went to some of our favorite stores. For Philip... that's Brooks Brothers. If it was possible (if he had the money), his entire closet would be filled with their clothing.
Next we headed to one of my favorite places. Sephora, duh. ;) I went in there to get the new Urban Decay Naked 3 Eye Shadow palette, but unfortunately they were sold out! Boo hoo! Oh well, guess that will have to wait. I still could spend hours in there just wandering around trying on make-up. Then removing my make-up. Trying on more make-up. Repeat, repeat, repeat. lol. I got sorta roped into a conversation with a Stila gal there who talked me into buying my first ever lipstick. I feel like a big girl now.
I got the Stila Color Balm in the color Isabelle. I also walked out with the some Eye Paint by NARS (color: Snake Eyes). And the Outrageous Volume Mascara from the Sephora Collection.
After we wandered the shops of Seattle, we walked down to Pike Place Market to hang out before dinner. I just love meandering through the market! It's hard to go down there and not but a bunch of almonds, a big bouquet of flower, fresh fruit, and of course... something yummy from one of the fifteen bakery's down there. lol. I don't go down there nearly enough. The last time I went, I was with my kids... but this was the first time Philip and I have gone in a long time!
After we left the market, it was time for dinner!! We had reservations to eat at Wild Ginger, which is a southeast Asian cuisine, and it was super yummy and the service was great. Of course, we had to save room for dessert, though. We walked across the street to get some Italian dessert over at Gelatiamo. We got gelato, hot cocoa & a canoli. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.
We ended our date at Benaroya Hall (home of the Seattle Symphony) to see a Handel's Messiah. I have actually never seen a symphony before this, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I will be honest and say that there were parts that weren't as captivating as others. But overall, it was such a beautiful experience! The instruments, singers, and chorus were all wonderful. I'd totally go to another symphony next year!
Such a beautiful venue, right?? We actually had pretty amazing seats and were super close to the orchestra. Everyone is so darn talented! Kind of makes me want to learn an instrument :)
After the symphony, we got to just kind of take our time leaving the city and getting home since we didn't have to pick up the kids. And we got to SLEEP in the next morning! I don't think I got out of bed until 9:00, it was awesome. Seriously awesome.
So thankful to my family for being so willing to watch the boys so that we could have a night out together. Heaven knows we need a break sometimes, and Christmas is the perfect time of year to to spend some quality time together!! Such a great day!
