Bennett's birthday outing in the city.

On Saturday, we took our 4 Year Old (Eeek, so weird saying that he's FOUR now!) out to the city to spend the day celebrating his birthday.

We spent all of our time at the Seattle Center, wandering around enjoying the sights and attractions. The Space Needle was by far Bennett's favorite thing. I wasn't sure he was going to be impressed with it, but I was wrong-- his mind was blown. He could have spent all day up there looking down at the city and pointing things out to us. I just love how excited he gets to try new things. It's such an amazing privileged to watch their expressions and enthusiasm.

I'm so happy we live so close to such an incredible place. Seattle really has so much to offer, and I enjoy taking my kids downtown to explore and see the sights.

On Sunday (his actual Birthday), we had a chill day at home, but we did have a few presents and of course, a birthday cake with candles for him to blow out. And the weather was nice enough that we were able to get the kiddos out to the park in the afternoon. It was such a stress-free weekend. No big parties to plan, no hassle. And I know that Bennett had a blast being spoiled all weekend.

It was perfect.

I love that you make a point to do this with your boys every year, it's so very special and as they get older they'll treasure it always. Amazing pictures, I'm coming to your city some time - it's gorgeous!

What wonderful way to make your little guy feel special on his big day. The pictures of Bennett in his shades are just too much. He looks so grown up and nonchalant. Love it. :)
