Five on Friday Vol. 9

We bought our house 2 years ago and have been working to make it our "home". When we moved in, it was like a blank slate. White walls, and super cheap carpet. It's been driving me batty, so I've been making lots of changes our house, starting with the family room. My husband put in some built-in shelving. We've also painted the walls, gotten a new couch, new lamp, newly installed carpets, and new curtains (which have yet to arrive). We're also planning to knock down some pillars and add crown molding. It's a lot of work but it's coming together. Hoping to do a before/after post when the space is totally done.

Here's a picture of our new couch. Those pillars back there are coming down this Spring. And I think this room will look awesome with crown molding.

And the curtains I ordered from Target. I am not a huge fan of paisley, but I really really wanted something bright and cheery, and also a subtle pattern. So.. let's hope these look okay. If not, I have no problem returning them :)

While the rest of the country is suffering with -30 wind chills, we've been enjoying sunny 48 degree beautiful days. I feel bad. Kinda. ;-) But you'll be thrilled to know that I don't take it for granted. I have been getting the kids outside and going for walks and Bennett's been riding his bike, and all the other things we can cram into our day.

Can we just talk about the never-ending-cycle of laundry?! I swear, it's the bane of my existence. I know there are 4 of us living here but I just do not understand how there is SO much laundry all of the time. From now on, the kids will wear and re-wear things until they are just too full of food particles, stains and snot to tolerate it anymore. j/k. Sorta.

I took Bennett out on a one-on-one mommy/son date this past weekend. We started the day off at Target (duh!), then went to get doughnuts, and then finished our date at the movies!! We met up with my bestie Kiara and Dane (Bennett's BFF) and watched Frozen. It was Dane & Bennett's first time to the movies together and they did awesome! I just love that Bennett is at an age where I can do these things with him :)

I've started a new thing. This picture is a hint, and I'll write a more in depth post about it soon! ;)

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!

I hear ya about the Laundry! I think I am still catching up with it from Christmas! To make matters worse, for 2 weeks at a time it's only myself and my daughter so I have no idea why I can't catch up on it lol

ugh, laundry. That looks like our room, too! And sometimes it gets to the point of so many clothes on the floor, I don't know what is actually clean or dirt...sniff test for the win. And I'm super jealous of your beautiful weather and blue skies! =)

Laundry is the bane of my existence too!! I just had my 2nd baby and how come one little person nearly tripled the laundry in this house!? LOL!

Seriously, how can four people generate so much dang laundry. It never freaking ends! Love our mommy/son date, let's do it again soon!

Love the couch, I have been wanting to redecorate for some time now. I need a new look. That laundry pile looks pretty similar to the one I have going right now, lol! I have been thinking of starting some date days with Brayden even though he is only 2 I think every once and a while it would be fun. Something I have always looked forward to doing with my kids.
