When I scheduled April's fix, I wrote in the notes some VERY specific things, more so than ever before. I actually went as far as to request an item I'd seen in someone else's fix (which I've never done before) and I also specifically asked for a Maxi dress and a handbag. And to my surprise, my stylist met every single one of my requests. Which surprised the heck out of me because let's be honest, the likelyhood of them being able to do that was slim. And they actually probably hate me for being so demanding. lol. But needless to say, my love for Stitch Fix has grown exponentially!
^^ I mean, how awesome is this note from my stylist?? She's paying attention like crazy. I'm lucky :)
If you need the details about Stitch Fix, here's the info:
You go to stitchfix.com and you create your style profile. Then the Stitch Fix stylists hand pick 5 items for you to try on. They send the clothing pieces directly to your house, you try them on and decide what to keep (if anything) and then you send back what you don't want. Easy peasy.
- There's a $20 styling fee, which you can use toward your order. (that's awesome!!)
- If you keep all 5 items you receive 25% off your order.
- You choose your price range
- The more feedback you give on the pieces sent to you, the better they get over time. So be sure to be very specific to your stylists so that they can send you things you'll love.
Item #1 - Carlita Jersey Maxi Dress
I'll admit right off the bat, hot pink really isn't my favorite color. It's pretty, but I don't feel like it goes with my complexion very well. So that's really the only reason I hesitate on this dress, because overall, it fits well and it's super comfortable! And of course, anything I can wear my mustard cardi with cool with me ;)
Item #2 - Gracelyn Back Twist Knit Top
I really like this color... I've been getting a little more into green lately. It's soft and comfortable, so +1 there, and what you can't see, is that back as a cute little twist near the neck line... which adds a little character. I should have taken a picture of it, shame on me. I'm on the fence about this. What do you think??
Item #3 - Brooke Embroidery Detail Cotton Knit Shirt
Well my smile says it all I think. I'm absolutely in love with this top!! The fabric is super light weight and airy, and the embroidery is so pretty. This is something I can see myself wearing constantly. So... even though I love your opinions.. I'm keeping this. Nothing you could say will deter me. :)
Item #4 - Parvin Reversible Hang Detail Tote
Have I mentioned I love that Stitch Fix is sending handbags now? Yes, I think I did. But this tote?? REVERSIBLE!! How brilliant is that? Not feelin' the black? No big deal... just turn it inside out. Just so happens it goes perfectly with this top, too.
Item #5 - Layla Striped Elbow Patch Detail Cardigan
Remember how I said I am demanding? Well not only did I request another handbag ^^, I also I asked if they send could me this EXACT cardigan. I saw it in a few other people's stitch fixes over the past month or two and I kinda asked for it by name. And so when I saw it arrive in my Stitch Fix... I may of squealed like a little girl. My stylist told me she was worried it might be too big... but she didn't need to worry - I love my clothes to fit a loose and my cardigans to be over-sized. Thank you thank you, Margaret. I could give you a big ol' kiss right now! (P.S. Margaret is my stylist, not just some random lady I wanna smooch)
Okay so what do you think?! I am really, really pleased with this fix. I think they did an awesome job not only honoring my requests (which I realize that probably won't always be able to do), but also picking things out that are totally my style.
Have you tried Stitch Fix yet?! If you've been thinking about signing up, you should do it for Spring/Summer! Treat yourself to some new clothes, and try them on in the convenience of your own home... it's probably the best delivery box service out there right now! :)
