May Stitch Fix Review

I feel like I was just writing about my April Stitch Fix. But that was a month ago, and here we are!! Already nearing the end of May and this month's fix has already arrived! It's always such a great day when I see this little brown box show up on my doorstep! The anticipation of what's inside is almost too much. I basically tear into this box as fast as I can find a pair of scissors, or keys, or whatever sharp thing is laying around!

If you need the details about Stitch Fix, here's the info:

You go to stitchfix.com and you create your style profile. Then the Stitch Fix stylists hand pick 5 items for you to try on. They send the clothing pieces directly to your house, you try them on and decide what to keep (if anything) and then you send back what you don't want. Easy peasy.
  • There's a $20 styling fee, which you can use toward your order. (that's awesome!!)
  • If you keep all 5 items you receive 25% off your order.
  • You choose your price range
  • The more feedback you give on the pieces sent to you, the better they get over time. So be sure to be very specific to your stylists so that they can send you things you'll love.
Yet again, my grand idea of doing a little Stitch Fix Fashion show in my backyard, fully loaded with my real DSLR and a tripod -- got deterred when the yard maintenance guys got here. lol. I'm starting to think that I'm bound to the lame mirror selfies forever and ever.

Item #1 - Aleah V-Neck Solid Dolman Sleeve Shirt
Item # 2 - Izzie Pineapple Print Scart

Okay so let's start with this scarf. Just for a minute, ignore the fact that I hate Pineapple's as a fruit, this scarf is actually pretty cute! I like the colors quite a bit. My only thing is, will I wear this during the warmer months?! I just don't see it. And I'm afraid that pattern is a little too "springy" for the colder months. So... that's my dilemma currently with this item.

The shirt? I pulled it out of the box and kind of immediately wrote it off. A little plain jane, yes? However once I put it on and discovered how ridiculously comfortable it is, I started to change my mind about it. Plus, it's pretty versatile.

Item #3 - Quincy Striped Maxi Skirt
See? This shirt is versitle! Goes with jeans & a scarf, or a maxi skirt. And it just so happens that it went perfectly with this striped Maxi skirt they sent this month!! Talk about the most perfectly comfy spring/summer outfit of all time.

But here's my beef. This skirt is long on me. I have this issue with long skirts/dresses, so I'm used to it. But this particular skirt was VERY long. I had to sort of hike it up and fold the top over about 6" for it to hit me at the right spot, and even then, it's too long to wear with flats.

I'm sure it would fit better if I wore some platform wedges or something, but I'm very torn about this.

Item #4 - Shelly Paisly Border Print V-neck Blouse
When I opened the box, I saw these colors and this pattern and I was 100% sure I was going to keep this top. But after trying it on, I'm not as convinced. It feels a little boxier than I was expecting. I don't know, what do you think??? Opinions please?!

Item #5 - Stanley Diamond Print Hi-Lo Jersey Shirt
What I love about this top, is that it's super casual, but not boring. The bright pattern really helps keep it interesting. It's also a hi-lo shirt, which I adore. The top hits me right at the hips, but the back covers part of my bum. I like this style quite a bit! I think this is definitely a keeper.

I think this fix was pretty good. They definitely didn't hit it out of the park like they normally do, but I'm still pretty happy with everything I got. I'm most torn about the Paisley top. I think I'm going to send it back, unless y'all convince me otherwise. lol.

Have you tried Stitch Fix yet?! If you've been thinking about signing up, you should do it for Spring/Summer! Treat yourself to some new clothes, and try them on in the convenience of your own home... it's probably the best delivery box service out there right now! :)

I like the tops but I didn't like the skirt or the scarf. I think you can get a better scarf that would be more versatile, and I think the skirt was definitely too long. Three out of five isn't bad, though!

I looooove the dolman shirt. I have one and wish I had oodles more. They're flattering but also leave room for loads of pizza(without cheese for you of course).

Love the tops! You had an awesome fix this month!

I like the last two items a lot! I am not digging the scarf. The white shirt is like you said plain jane but one always needs white t's. I don't like the skirt.

Love the dolman shirt...totally pinning this so maybe they'll send it to me! I also love love love that last one - so bright and fun! I'd probably send the maxi skirt back - altering it seems like too much work for something so casual. I agree about the scarf...and I don't like long sleeves going into summer, so I'd probably send the other shirt back too. I get my first fix on June 4 and I'm so excited!

I am in love with #4 an #5!! They are adorable! The little paisley tunic is absolutely adorable and would be SO cute with some tight pink pastel capris and wedges!! A really tight bottom would make it look less "boxy," I think!

I love the skirt but I'd have that problem too with it being too long. Otherwise it is sooo cute! I really love the v-neck but what kind of material is it? Really love the last shirt. It's my favorite! It looks great on you but I think it would look better on me. ;) The Paisley is cute but I think it is one of those shirts that I would love and buy but not really ever wear, it looks good on you though! The scarf if not my style. Looks like a great fix to me! Maybe I'll have to finally try Stitch Fix!

I was wondering if maybe you could get the skirt hemmed... maybe that would help?! I have the same problem and have done that before. Also that paisley blouse is amazing! I love it on you and seriously if I knew it wouldn't fit me then I'd buy it from you!

No to the scarf, it just isn't practical, and if you don't like pineapples then you won't want to be looking at them all day! I LOVE the dolman top, I have a few and they are my absolute fave. I like the maxi. The paisley top is cute but I just don't see you wearing it. I'm not a fan of hi-lo shirts, but it does look good on you!

Well, I hear so much about the Stitch Fix but I've never tried it. You certainly wear it all well, but I do not care for the scarf, or the paisley top (it looks like a pillowcase to me) but the last top is just soo cute on you. The skirt is very cute if you can get the length worked out without too much trouble or expense. Happy Memorial Day!

I love item four. That shirt looks beautiful on you. The scarf wouldn't be something I'd wear in summer but the maxi skirt is really nice.

If you love the skirt, just get it hemmed. The printed top, #4, is definitely a yes. The last top, the pink one...no. The cut just isn't doing it. Also, the white top & top and pineapple scarf - cute but you could easily get a white top like that from Old Navy, Gap, even Target for half the cost, I'm sure. Scarves will come & go...if it were solid color(s), I'd stick with it. Good luck making your choices.

I love the scarf & the last shirt! I'm not really sure on the maxi skirt myself.
