Seattle might be known for it's rain, but I'll tell you one thing, our Summers are incredible. You really can't beat a Pacific Northwest Summer!! Another great thing about WA State, is all of the natural lakes and beaches we have here! Just a 30 minute drive in any direction and I could end up at 6 different lakes. I'm so thankful to live in an area with so many options and places to go! This year already, we've visited Discovery Park, Lake Wilderness as well as took a trip to Lake Chelan!
My boys are definitely water babies. During the Summer, we probably hit the beach at least once a week. But I'll be honest, with 2 kids... there's a lot of stuff to bring. I generally just keep a beach bag packed and in the car ready to go so I don't have to think about it before we leave.
Beach Bag // I actually have that exact black & white beach bag! I got it from Jane.com and LOVE it!
Flip Flops // These are a MUST for me. I need something I can slip on and off easily, but don't care if they get dirty.
Sunscreen // I prefer Banana Boat, specifically the spray kind. Ain't no one got time to squeeze it out of the bottle and spend 5 minutes trying to rub in and spread evenly! The spray stuff is just so much easier! I keep one in my beach bag, and one in my car at all times.
Oversized Beach Towels // I LOVE big huge beach towels. I got this one from Costco! Highly recommend.
Swim Trunks // Those two pairs of swim trunks you see up there are the boys' new suits for this year! Scored them at Old Navy for $5 each :-)
Swim Diapers // Gotta keep several of these on hand while at the beach. My littlest has a thing where he loves to pooh in public. But what are you gonna do?
Sunglasses for Mom & Kiddos // I'm weird about sunglasses, I pretty much can't function without them if it's at all sunny. I have like 4 different pairs spread throughout the house, my car, my bag... etc. Gotta cover my bases. I also pack some for the kids. Easton doesn't usually wear his, but Bennett prefers to wear sunglasses most of the time.
Water Bottle // Hydration... enough said.
Snacks // I tend to pack bananas because they're easy and filling. Sometimes I'll throw some peanut butter crackers or a snack bar in the bag as well.
Sand Toys // My kids are perfectly content sitting on the beach for hours, as long as they have a bucket and shovel, they're good to go.
EOS Lip Balm // No one likes chapped lips, right?
iPhone // No explanation needed.
Huggies Clutch 'n' Clean Wipes // For the messes!! And with kids, it's inevitable. Between the sand, banana faces, and snotty noses, I always come armed with a ridiculous amount of wipes. And like I said.. I wouldn't doubt I'll be dealing with a dirty diaper at some point while at the beach... so yah.
But let's talk about wipes for a minute. They are universal. I use them for EVERYTHING. Like a few of the other products I mentioned, I keep my Huggies wipes handy. I probably have a package of them in every single room of the house, plus some in my purse, the car & the beach bag.
I recently discovered the Huggies Clutch 'n' Clean Wipes, have you seen them?! They are adorable!! They come in three different designs -- which is awesome since clearly, I carry them everywhere with me, I can at least have a cute little clutch to carry them in.
Love that they have this handy dandy strap attached to the clutch, so that I can hang them from my car seat for ultimate convenience! This is my favorite design, but click here to peek at the other cute stylish designs!
So tell me, what are your beach bag essentials??
