Oh and guys, something monumental happened.
NO LAME MIRROR SELFIES THIS TIME!!! Mama actually got out the tripod and big girl camera to model these Stitch Fix pieces. Whaaaaat? It's only taken me a year. ha. But watch out for my photo bomber. He makes an appearance in almost every outfit shot :-)
If you need the details about Stitch Fix, here's the run down:
First, go to stitchfix.com and you create your style profile. Also, create a Stitch Fix Style pinboard and link it to your profile so that your stylists can get a feel for your clothing tastes and preferences. Then schedule your fix!! The stylists will hand pick 5 items for you to try on. They send the clothing pieces directly to your house, you try them on and decide what to keep (if anything) and then you send back what you don't want. Super easy and convenient!
- There's a $20 styling fee, which you can use toward your order. (that's awesome!!)
- If you keep all 5 items you receive 25% off your order.
- You choose your price range.
- The more feedback you give on the pieces sent to you, the better they get over time. So be sure to be very specific to your stylists so that they can send you things you'll love.
Item #1 - Hattie Tie Dye Jersey Maxi Skirt
When I read the words "Tie Dye", I'll be honest, I wasn't excited. However, once I tried it on, I was sold. It's actually a lot cuter than I thought it would, be and I might actually go as far as to say that perhaps I am a Tie Dye fan now. Plus, it's hard to pass up the chance to add another comfy maxi skirt to my ever-growing collection.
I'm keeping this skirt. You can't talk me out of it.
Told you... he's a photo-bomber.
Item #2 - Gaia Crochet Detail Sheer Cotton Tank
Item #3 - Tori Carved Spike Drop Earrings
First? I love this color orange. I don't really own anything this color so I was pretty excited about it. It's a really nice summery color, don't you think? I paired it with this grey cardi I had in my closet. I like the combo.
Also, these gold earrings came in my fix as well. I haven't received any accessories for a long time so it was kind of a nice little surprise. I don't wear earrings often, though, so I'm on the fence about them. Thoughts?
Let me just say this. When I tried on this blue top, I didn't like it. But now looking at the picture, it's not so bad. I like it a lot better with this navy cardigan. Gosh I'm such a cardi hoarder. This one and the grey one above are like 5 years old but I still wear them constantly. I'm not kidding you, I probably have over 20 cardigans. Okay back to the top, sorry. I don't think I'm keeping it, it's not horrible, but I'm not sure I'm in love with the pattern going down the middle of the top. And the color block at the bottom was a bit snug around my hips so.... yah pretty sure it's going back.
Item #5 - Connor Racerback Mixed Striped Maxi Dress
I really wanted to like this dress. I really did. I just don't. The mixed stripes just make me look bloated and wide. And the dress is super tight and shows every love handle and roll. Ew. And yes, I know what you're thinking. ANOTHER CARIDGAN!!! Get over it, I will never stop wearing them ;-)
But yah, not digging this dress. Pooh.
But I am digging this shot of me and B. He came running in and said "kisses mama?!" How could I refuse!! And how handy that I had my camera and tripod ready. I'm all heart-eyed about this.
Alright, well overall, I think I give this fix a 'C'. Everything was just so-so I think. Mostly because of fit, but also the styles weren't as spot on as they've been in the past. But the first maxi skirt? WINNER. I'm also happy if I keep at least one item out of my fix.
Have you been wanting to try Stitch Fix?? I highly recommend it. If you ever need any tips or advise when it comes to Stitch Fix, let me know. I've been doing it a lonnnnng time now so I feel like I kinda have a handle on how things work :)
