A much needed getaway!

My Husband and I dropped the kids off with family on Thursday morning and then took off to the Oregon Coast for a little adults-only getaway! We met our best friends down there and spent the the next 4 days riding bikes down the boardwalk, strolling the beach at a leisurely pace, eating meals in peace, acting childish at the local arcade, making bon fires and s'mores, and indulging in way too much salt water taffy. We also had the pleasure of visiting the original Goonies house, and the infamous Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach.

After we left the coast, we drove into Portland for a night on the town. Which consisted of yummy Thai food for dinner, some shopping downtown, a walk on the waterfront, and ended the evening at the movie theater!

Besides making memories with my boys, spending time adult time with my Husband and our best friends is high on my list of favorite things. This time away was MUCH needed!

I decided to leave my "big girl camera" at home and just live in the moment. But of course, for a photographer and a blogger, it's hard not to pull out my iPhone and snap pictures along the way :-)

I can't wait to go back to the beach! Portland, eh, that can wait. But we definitely need to go back to Seaside next summer.
