We've been back from California for almost a week now, but things have been nuts with work and getting caught up on stuff. I already posted about our time at Universal Studios, and clearly, I was absolutely STOKED to take my kiddos to Disneyland! So I thought that deserved a completely separate post!

I went into it with really low expectations, because I mean, they are Four and Two Years Old. I'm glad I did that because I think it helped me to keep my stress level down. I also got ID Bracelets for the boys to wear while we were there, which I highly recommend!

I checked the crowd forecast before we left, and for the day we went, it was predicted to be a "ghost town", with a crowd index between 30-40. But when we got there, it was definitely not a ghost town. The crowd index ended up at around a 60! So there was definitely some waits to get on the rides, but it wasn't too bad. We really didn't have to ever wait longer than around 20 minutes.

*I was provided media passes to Disneyland, but all opinions are my own.

The kids did a lot better than I thought they would!! I was nervous because Bennett doesn't always do well with crowds and loud noises, he gets anxious and is known to meltdown from time to time. But really, he blew me away with how well he did! He had one little meltdown and then moved on and was totally fine! He was tall enough to go on pretty much every single ride, but he's still a little scared of the bigger coasters so he stuck to the smaller rides.

Easton, on the other hand, he's usually willing to try everything at least once, so I was super bummed he wasn't tall enough for rides like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and The Matterhorn.

Their favorite attractions were The Winnie The Pooh Ride, and Tarzan's Treehouse, and Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters! They went on both of those several times! And mostly, they were just blown away by Sleeping Beauty's castle, and Mickey's Toon Town. They both still talk about getting to visit Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Donald's house almost every day. Makes my heart so happy.

I was also really excited that their Aunt, Uncle and Cousins came with us! It gave me and my niece, Ali, a chance to sneak off and do Splash Mountain and a couple of other rides that I wouldn't have otherwise been able to do if it were just us there (unless I wanted to go on them by myself).

As I said, there were some brief moments of whining and frustration, but overall, it was such a wonderful day. It was probably more magical for me than anyone, because of all the memories I have there. I am just so proud of my kids, they did SO good considering the crowds and how long of a day it was. We got there at opening, and stayed until dinner time! I only wish w were in California longer, because I probably would have wanted to go back to Disney for one more day to try and catch some of the rides we didn't get to. But... I guess that just means we'll have to plan a trip back sometime soon! :-)

Have you taken your kids to Disneyland??? What was your experience like??

We were going to go a month ago but decided to wait until Myles is 3 (next summer). I think then he can ride more rides and enjoy it more. Do you remember the height requirements?

What did the media pass get you? You made me wonder if Disneyland bans DSLRs or something (I haven't been there in 10 years -- predates my photography career!).

Hey Mandy! Glad you guys had fun!! We're closer to DisneyWORLD being in Indiana and want to take the boys sometime in the next few years. What camera, lens, and action(s) did you use for these photos?

I haven't been to Disneyland, but I did go to Disneyworld when I was a little kid and I'm still waiting for my parents to take me back!
