The Beach Retreat

I mentioned this in a previous post, but my Mom recently bought a place in Ocean Shores, WA. It's this cute little town on the Washington Coast that I used to visit growing up. It's about 2 1/2 hours from my house, so it's a super quick and easy drive to get out there. So over Thanksgiving weekend, we drove out there to stay at the beach house for the first time. We walked in, and immediately I started getting excited for all of the new family traditions we're going to start there.

It's pretty cold in WA right now, but that didn't stop us from running and playing on the beach. I didn't even try to feel the ocean water, though, I'm sure my hands would have frozen right off. The pacific ocean is not a warm ocean by any means, but the beaches are still very pretty!

We spent a lot of time taking walks, eating good good, playing with toys and generally just being lazy. Well, except for when my boys and their little cousin got their bursts of energy and turned into crazy people. lol. But overall, it was just what we needed.

As awesome of a time as we had this past weekend, I am stoked to take my boys once the Spring and Summer hit and we can shed some layers and play in the sand! I think it will become a place where some of their fondest memories are made ♥︎
