Look, I've been pretty dang lucky that I have genuinely loved almost every Stitch Fix box I've received. I usually keep at least 1-2 things out of every box, which I call a total win! But every once in a while, they miss the mark, and get a fix that just isn't my style, or doesn't fit, or whatever. This was one of those months. But I still wanna share it with you! Even though these pieces aren't my style, perhaps they're yours?
First thing, stitchfix.com and check it out! Next, create your style profile. Also, be sure to start a Stitch Fix Style pinboard and link it to your profile so that your stylists can get a feel for your clothing tastes and preferences. Then schedule your fix!! The stylists will hand pick 5 items for you to try on. They send the clothing pieces directly to your house, you try them on and decide what to keep (if anything) and then you send back what you don't want. Super easy and convenient!
- There's a $20 styling fee, which you can use toward your order. (that's awesome!!)
- If you keep all 5 items you receive 25% off your order.
- You choose your price range.
- The more feedback you give on the pieces sent to you, the better they get over time. So be sure to be very specific to your stylists so that they can send you things you'll love.
Alright here we go!
Item #1 - Zappo Printed Mixed Material Top by 41 Hawthorn
First thought right out of the box? "Ew." I hate to admit it, but I just didn't like the pattern whatsoever, and I'm really not that fond of mixed material tops. RETURNED.
Item #2 - Rhoades Split Neck Blouse by Skies are Blue
This was... okay. I wanted to like it. I don't mind the colors, and I have been fond of florals lately. But I just didn't like the way this fit, and I don't like the sleeves.
Item #3 - Freida Skinny Jean by Mavi
These jeans are, meh. The length is good, but I didn't really like the way they fit. Even after just wearing them around the house for 15 minutes, they started really stretching our around the knee area, which would only get worse if I continued to wear them all day.
Item #4 - Channy Open Cardigan by Market & Spruce
I thought I would like this when I saw it all folded up in the box, and after trying it on, I sorta liked it. But just not enough to keep it. Andplus, I just don't need another light weight cardigan like this, I'm kinda over this style of cardigan, too. Ugh, I'm in quite a mood right now, if you can't tell ;) RETURNED.
Item # 5 - Val Chandelier Earring by Zad
The saving grace of this fix are these earrings. Well actually, if I'm being honest, I don't LOVE these earrings. They are a little big for my taste. However, I could see myself wearing them sometimes, so I decided to keep them because I didn't want to lose the $20 styling fee. KEPT.
Well okay, there you have it. The first disappointing fix I've had in a while. But hey, I'm actually not giving up hope, because I have had so many amazing ones in the past. In fact, most of my closet consists mostly of the Stitch Fix items I've received. So I still love 'em.
OH! And the amazing thing, the reason why I still love them so much and am willing to give them another shot? After I took to instagram that I was bummed about this fix, I immediately got an e-mail with an apology and an offer to cover my next styling fee. It that isn't INCREDIBLE customer service, than I don't know what is. You still have my heart, Stitch Fix! <3
