about

Hello.

My full name is Amanda, but you can call me Mandy. I was born and raised in Washington State, and I'm still here! Though I love the city of Seattle, I'm more of your typical suburban kinda girl, so my family and I reside about 40 minutes outside of the city. I met my Husband, Philip, in 2005, and we were married in July 2007.

As newlyweds, I worked full time and had a desk job as a User Research Coordinator at Microsoft while my Husband attended the University of Washington, and finished his BA in Business Marketing. Shortly after that, with two years of marriage behind us, we started our family...

Bennett Roy is 4, and Easton Michael is 2. They are just the lights of our lives and we love them so so much!!

Bennett's Birth Story  |  Easton's Birth Story

I quit my "full time job" to stay at home with my children and pursue my passion of Photography. In the last 3 years, I have started my own business Mandy Chiappini Photography, and have been so excited to see it grow and thrive. I wouldn't necessarily consider myself a stay at home mom anymore, as I've taken on the role of Work at home Mom.

My husband and I just recently bought a house for our little family and we're working to make it our home. I'm not that great at decorating, but I'm trying.

I think it's safe to say that my blog has changed a little bit over the last couple of years. Like so many others, I started this blog as a way to keep family & close friends updated on life! I would post sporadically, as new life events occurred. But after the birth of my first son, is when I really started getting into blogging, I really wanted to document Bennett's life and milestones. And, I found myself reading other blogs of Mama's that I could relate to -- people that were in the same stage of life as me.
As I continued down my path and developed real relationships with other bloggers, I realized that it was so much more than just a journal and a baby book. It was this amazing, comfortable place that I could settle in and feel at home. Over the years, my blog has evolved into my sanctuary. It's where I go to write, to document, to vent, to share important moments & photos. It's how I find relief in all the chaos. It's where I have met some of my very best friends.

And for that, I am so grateful! The blogging world is (for the most part) an incredible community of people just waiting to support and embrace you.

My family, photography, church, blogging, instagram, light & bright spaces, the color grey, stripes, fountain coke, flip flops, home-made picco de gallo, sunsets, bokeh, bubble tea, salt & vinegar chips, freshly picked flowers, vacations, warm sweaters, marshmallows in my hot cocoa, shopping online, frozen yogurt, pinterest, pretty notebooks, purses, chapstick, contemporary dance, and so. much. more.
